The local 9 o'clock Fox news just reported that current players were asked to write letters expressing their commitment to WSU before they met with Julie Scherz and that Becky Endicott watched as they wrote the letters.

The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

What must have been going through those girls heads? Intimidating for sure. I don't understand this at all.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

Another legendary coach joins Gene Stephenson and Pat Summitt in defining the current culture.

College baseball's longest-tenured coaches say the sport's biggest problem is this generation's players' sense of entitlement.

                WHAT!?!?! :banghead:

Can someone please explain the purpose in any of this. Commitment to WSU? They haven't asked for a release have they? Of course, this little action might change that.

And Endicott watched? Why? She may be part of the problem (not saying she is). I'm sure they were totally open about their statements with this going on.

Isn't the purpose of Scherz meeting with players to get them to open up without fear of reprisals? I mean, that's part of the problem isn't it? :confusion:

One article discussed nine transfers early... four transfers this year... four transfers last year... i know it was discussed previously, but what is the total numbers of transfers under Jody's reign?

I counted 19, but I think I missed the 5 departures in her 1st season that happened before the season ended (maybe even before the season started). In Jody's defense a lot of those 1st year transfers were probably due at least somewhat to the Coaching change from laid back style of Jane Albright to the ultra intense style of Jody. No doubt that was one helluva culture shock.

Okay, so maybe a more reliable count would be the number of players who have stayed to fruition with Jody? I can think of eight... am I way off?

I would have to go back and study the rosters. But I had not thought about it in those terms before.

I count 7 who used all 4 of their years of college eligibility as Shockers under Jody. 6 of those were recruited by Jody and 1 was recruited by Jane Albright. There were 7 Juco transfers that played there final 2 years of eligibility as Shockers for Jody. We had 1 D-1 transfer who sat out 1 year and graduated after playing 1 year with 1 year of eligibility remaining (Darice Fountaine).

Here is the list by Senior Season showing how many years they were at Wichita State.

And part (a lot?) of it was talent level. We had a very nice D-II team for awhile under HCJA the First.
